riding up thru Grindelwald toward
the Wetterhorn mountain

north face of the Fiescherhorn above
the Lower Grindelwald glacier

getting closer to the Wetterhorn
which is next to the Grosse Scheidegg pass

road bends north toward the
Schwarzhorn

south to the Schreckhorn peak above
the Upper Grindelwald glacier

looking back down to
Grindelwald, with the Lauberhorn + Tchuggen peaks above on the right
horizon -- a little right of center between Eiger and Lauberhorn is
a dark green pass with a snowy ridge beyond it -- that pass
is called "Kleine Scheidegg" - (it's higher than the Grosse
Scheidegg pass)

the north face of the Eiger
peak -- Ken once climbed the Eiger by the jagged narrow ridge called
"Mitteleggi" on the left of the summit, staying above the
north face

up here normal motor vehicle
traffic is not permitted on the road, mainly only special buses --
so lots of people just walk on the road

under the Wetterhorn,
getting close now to the Grosse Scheidegg pass

west to the Mönch and Eiger peaks -- though the Mönch is behind,
it's actually a little higher than the Eiger

Sunny snow of the Fiescher glacier below the Mönch peak.

Wellhorn mountain beyond
