Passo Gavia (2621m)
It's about 1400 vertical meters (4600 ft) up to Passo Gavia from the north
side starting in Bormio.

Passo dello Stelvio (Stilfserjoch) (2758m)
It's about 1550 vertical meters (5100 ft) up to Passo Stelvio from the
west side starting in Bormio.

but I was happy to get up there on my Bike Friday Project Q (in
single-rider mode)
Then I descended the same road back to Bormio for the night. Going down the
west side was lots of fun. (and much more so than going down the east
side).
