Ken rode a big loop thru the mountains rising between Cortina
and Canazei, including la Gusela, Marmolada, Gruppo di Sella,
and Cinque Torri. He started from Pocol (near Cortina), and
rode over these passes: Giau, Fedaia, Sella, Gardena, Valparola,
Falzarego -- and through the villages of Selva di Cadore, Caprile,
Canazei, Corvara, Stern (La Villa). This route came from the
book Cycling Italy, by Ethan Gelber et al (Lonely Planet, 2003). About 3700 vertical meters
of climbing in 115 km, with some sustained sections at steepness
grade of 8% and more.
